Joe Cordaro is being super efficient and has already sent out the Entry forms for the Abbey Bowmen shoots in 2020.

As Joe says:

"Attached are our invite / entry forms for both Abbey Open (24th May), and Longbow & Barebow Open (20th September), to place on your website.

We have also decided to include barebow archers to our Longbow Open hence change of name to Abbey Longbow & Barebow Open."

Details are on the Tournaments & Records -> Events in Essex and Suffolk page

Steve Morris, 65, of Colchester, Essex sadly passed away at home on Sunday 10th November 2019. He was a long-standing member of Colchester and District Archery Club and over the years had many outstanding achievements, including attaining Master Bowman for the first time in 2014.  Steve primarily shot barebow and enjoyed travelling to tournaments around the country, competing at a high level.  Steve enjoyed all forms of archery, especially taking part at the annual week-long Dunster tournament, although he mostly took part in target archery.

Steve was a kind, quiet man, always willing to help others and it was a pleasure to shoot alongside him.

Steve very proudly represented both his club and county at many tournaments over the years.  Steve enjoyed regularly competing as part of a recurve team, with his barebow. Most notably with his daughter, Claire, winning the recurve team at the East Anglian Championships with her twice, and as part of the Colchester team in the Essex Albion league.

In 2014 Steve was ranked 3rd nationally and he currently holds 30 of the Essex County Archery Association records for gentlemen barebow archers.  Steve also achieved 3 National Records for 3 different rounds over 2013 and 2014.

The funeral service will be held on Thursday 12th December at 11:30am, at St Peter's Church on North Hill in Colchester. Everyone is welcome, and as Steve never was a fan of formal wear, the family ask that archery club or county shirts be worn if possible.

Family flowers only; please make any charitable donations to the Samaritans or Water Aid.

Anna King
Colchester and District Archery Club

Good morning all,
For those who haven't heard, we have been informed of the sad passing of Steve Morris from CADAC.
I have recieved the following details from his daughter Clare for anyone who wishes to attend the funeral.

"Dad's funeral will be held on Thursday 12th December at 11:30am, at St Peter's Church on North Hill in Colchester. I know that he would be honoured to have any of his fellow archers in attendance if they are able to be there.
Dad never was a fan of formal wear but was proud to represent CADAC on the shooting line around the county and beyond, so I'd like to ask that archery club/county shirts be worn instead.
Family flowers only."
I know all our thoughts will be with his family and his extended archery family at this sad time.
