The Coaching Guild are running a session on recurve string making and serving repair at the start of their October meeting. String making no longer forms part of the level 1 or 2 coaching courses, and several archers and coaches have expressed an interest as they've never seen it done. We'll cover:
- String making standards
- Materials and manufacturers
- 'Stretch' and 'creep'
- Recent changes in the industry which might affect people's default string choices
- A 'hands-on' string making session
- We'll have a few jigs available and the idea is very much that people give it a go themselves
The session will start at 7:00pm on Wednesday 2nd October at Margaretting Village Hall, Wantz Road, Margaretting, CM4 0EP.
We expect it to last about an hour and a quarter, after which people can leave if they wish although they are welcome to stay for the Guild's bi-monthly meeting which will take place afterwards. Entry will be free although we will ask for donations towards tea and coffee.
