ECAA Statement from the Chairman

Dear all,

In light of the recent government positioning / medical advice and AGB positioning, the ECAA Executive are duty bound to follow the prevailing guidance in an effort to safeguard our members.

Therefore, in line with the ever changing landscape of the situation, we are attempting to remain pro-active to the situation and so have taken the view that all ECAA events will be decided on a case by case basis, with a rolling 4 week decision tree.

As such,

  • ECAA Imperial Clout – Cancelled
  • ECAA League matches – Albion / Longbow/ Compound
    • Compound League – Will not start in April
      • Plans are underway for revisions of fixtures list, with options around start date – further details will follow.
    • Albion / Longbow
      • Notice is given that ALL May matches are currently under review of cancellation/postponement – further details to follow.
  • Clubs are requested to keep in contact with League Secretaries as appropriate. (Advice on shooting / not shooting etc.)

I would also like to take the opportunity to refer clubs/members to the AGB guidance, in that archery activity is to be suspended, and as such, if clubs opt to operate, then they may not be covered by insurance.

We will continue to give updates as appropriate,

Alex Purser
Chairman
Essex County Archery Association
