Bows and Biscuits – Barebow – Sat 29 August 2026

Saturday 29th August saw barebow's turn for Bows and Biscuits hosted by Braintree Bowmen.

Paul Clark, county chair, hosted the event and shared a wealth of knowledge about everything archery.

The session started a little differently to the bows and biscuits I've been to in the past with us all introducing ourselves and giving a little background into what, when and how we chose barebow.

It was very typical of my experience of barebow archers, with everyone being very friendly and
willing to share their knowledge and experience.

We then moved onto some of the dark arts of barebow. String walking and tab marks, the
differences between indoor and outdoor set up and tuning both arrows and bows. It was a very
informative and interesting chat that clarified a lot of grey areas around the rules.

Having covered all of our questions it was time to put on our waterproofs and head out onto the
range and shoot some arrows.
All in all was a great morning albeit a little bit damp, big thanks to everyone who gave their time
for a great morning!
