It is with great sadness that we have to announce the death of Terry Carter on Sunday 14th August. Our sincerest condolences go out to his wife, Christine, and his family. Both Terry and Christine contracted COVID when they returned from a recent holiday and Terry went on to develop pneumonia.

Those of you who knew him will remember his larger than life personality, his sense of humour, kindness and positive attitude to life. In recent years he fought bravely against cancer which he managed to recover from, however, the treatment must have taken its toll and in spite of fighting hard the pneumonia proved too much.

Terry started shooting in the 1970’s and after spells with Basildon Archers and Cranes Bowmen the clubs merged in 1983 to form Bowmen of Malgrave. Terry was always a prominent member of the club and introduced many to the sport and taught countless beginners. He had been Malgrave’s club president for a number of years and many will remember him presenting the medals at our Moonlight shoot.

A great character and friend, he will be sadly missed.
