Last weekend a large contingent of Essex archers travelled to Stoneleigh Park for this years’ AGB National Indoor Championships. This is a WA18 ranking round followed by a series of knockout head to heads.

All bowstyles were well represented from all over the county, with Noak Hill Archers having the highest number of entries with ten.

It was its usual, very long day but produced some very good performances with Wendie King and Michael Judd (both Mayflower) helping England get the Recurve team gold and Richard Burgess getting the team bronze in Barebow.

In the individual events Amelia Chumber (Noak Hill) had a great day coming away with the ladies Barebow silver.

The standout performances of the day were Sharon Lawrence and Eric Mallet (both Noak Hill), who both took Longbow gold, Eric finishing 2nd in the ranking round and Sharon finishing 1st in hers.

All archers from Essex produced some great performances and proved yet again that Essex is a force to be reckoned with.

Well Done everyone you done your county proud

Mark Lawrence

Blue Arrows at Ipswich are putting on their first ever Open shoot on Sunday 30th January 2022.

It will be a WA18 and details of the shoot an a link to their website is on the Shooting -> Events in Essex and Suffolk page or can be downloaded by clicking here.

This is their first go at putting on a shoot so it would be great to have lots of Essex and Suffolk archers turn up to support the event and make it a success.

Please find the Entry form for ECAA Summer League 2022 along with League Rules and Addendum on the Shooting -> Leagues -> Albion Recurve League page.

I hope you will consider joining (or re-joining).

The fee for the above league was omitted from the Entry form.

This is £8 per team. Cheques made payable to Essex County Archery Association.

Look forward to hearing from you.
