As some of you may be aware, or perhaps not, Graham Sibley is standing down as our County Secretary after serving the Essex County Archery Association for sixty years, a job he thought he was going to do temporary in the first instance. I am very honoured to have been elected as your new Secretary to take his place. When Graham took up the position, I was only just beginning infant school back in the early fifties. I know I have a hard job in front of me, in following Graham’s footsteps, but I will strive and do my best for the Essex County Archery Association. However, I would like to thank everyone for voting, and supporting me at the Extra-ordinary General Meeting held at Margaretting on Wednesday, 07 May 2014

Just a little bit about myself, I commenced my career in archery in March 1965, when I was a teenager, and next year will be fifty years. I shoot clout, field, and of course target, and I have shot flight in the past. I have also had the honour of shooting for my County, and gained both my Target and Field Colours, which have both been the highlight of my career. Most of you will know that I, along with my husband, Dennis were members of the Bowmen of Ardleigh for over forty years, until October 2010, when we decided to become full members of Colchester and District Archery Club. We are also members of Panther Bowhunters Field Archery Club, based at Chelmsford

As some of you may already know I am the County Field Organizer, for the Championships that are held at Panthers ground on the first Sunday of October, shooting a FITA Field 24 Marked; and Field Records Officer, responsible for keeping the County Field Records up to date; also the Minutes Secretary, which I took over from Marlene, who had been doing the job for forty years. I also assist Dennis, who runs the Bray I Indoor League, and help him with the organization of the SCAS Junior FITA which is held on the second Saturday in July at our club, Colchester

Graham has given me a lot of help as there is a lot of information and files to pass over, and I would like to take this opportunity to thank him for keeping the service going during the transitional period

I will be only too happy to help with any enquiries that you may have. My details are as follows
