Clacton Archers raise £1,100 for charity

Keen junior archer Jordan Johnson 10 of Phoenix Archers last year raised £600 for two worthwhile charities. This year he put together a team of 5 and decided to run another charity event in aid of BLISS, a charity setup for premature and sick babies. So far their collective efforts have raised in excess of £1,100 for the charity.

The Charity Team aimed to achieve a collective score of 2000 points between them, but managed to score in excess of 2500, this despite shooting in the rain and against a strong wind. The shoot was facilitated by Essex County Archery Association Chairman and Judge Robin Frost, who at the end presented the juniors with a trophy each as a reminder of the day.

Jordan Johnson (Phoenix Archers) Scored 538, Reece Johnson (Clacton Archers) Scored 512, Jonathon Tate (Clacton Archers) Scored 487, Tina Marshall (Clacton Archers) Scored 408 and Aiden Barry (Phoenix Archers) scored 574 a whopping total of 2,519 points.

The event hosted by Clacton Archers at their shooting ground also included a 'Have-a-go', tombola, target and catch the duck games and refreshments.

The team would like to express their thanks to Cindy’s Bakery, Great Bentley for raising £10, Great Bentley Primary School for raising £10;  Liz Bennet of the Fusiliers Pub for raising £120 as well as John and Carol from Great Bentley, Also all of Tina’s Colleagues at Tarmac and the Hauliers for their kind donations, and of course everyone else who sponsored the team and event.
