The following picture was included in the Evening Echo on Wednesday 13th October

The bow in the picture is of a replica of the Mereheath Bow from Dorset. The original was found in an Iron Age peat bog and would possibly have been in use while Stonehenge was being built.
The artist, Meg Chapple, I think has captured the essence of the bow including all the knots and bumps of a natural piece of Yew.
I hasten to add that the string is not a real one as I would not have been able to string this bow as the weight is 50lb!
The Art Trail starts on the 23rd October to the 31st. The picture (Spirit of the Bow) will be on show here in the shop from the 23rd.
