Graham Pallett collects award from Basildon Sports Council

Congratulations to Graham Pallett of Mayflower Archers who was presented with the Bob Bielby Sheild for Endeavour from the Basildon Sports Council, at the Markhams Chase Leisure Centre, on Monday 19th May.

This trophy is awarded to a person who has made every effort to be involved in sporting activity, in spite of disability. In Graham's case, he initially took up archery in the Basildon Disabled Sports Association. He felt this was not sufficiently competitive, so he joined Mayflower Archers so that he could be involved in direct competition with able bodied archers. This is in addition to competing in DSE (Disabled Sport England) Regional and National Championships.
The photographs attached show Graham receiving the shield from Ken Laundy, Chairman of Basildon Sports Council and a group photograph of all the award winners on the night.
